TAAG cancels strike and resumes negotiations with unions

TAAG's administration announced that the advance notice of the stoppage, which was scheduled for September 1st, has been revoked following meetings held with the union structure.

The company stated that negotiations are ongoing, aiming to establish a solution that is both balanced and sustainable. TAAG assured that this decision allows for the maintenance of normal operations and preserves the dialogue process between management and employee representatives.

Clóvis Rosa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, reinforced the importance of maintaining dialogue as the preferred path. He declared his appreciation for the decision to continue conversations, recognizing that there are points where positions need adjustment, but emphasizing that this work must be conducted responsibly, given that everyone is part of the same company.

The central purpose of the negotiations, according to him, is to find fair resolutions for employees that are also viable for the organization. Furthermore, TAAG's administration maintains contact with other worker representative bodies, seeking to resolve labor issues through consensus, responsibility, and negotiation.

Previously, TAAG maintenance technicians had planned a one-day strike this Tuesday, motivated by demands for salary adjustments and contesting what they considered unilaterally made decisions by the company. This strike threatened the activities of the Angolan state company, responsible for air transport to 13 locations within the country and 12 international destinations.
