Two fintech companies, InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy, have announced a merger with the aim of creating a unified platform for distributing insurance services across India.
According to the company statement, the combined entity will merge InsuranceDekho's strong presence in the northern and western regions of India with RenewBuy's network operating in the southern part of the country. As of March 31, 2026, the merged business will possess a premium portfolio worth over 6,600 crore rupees, more than six hundred thousand digital partners, and coverage of 98.57% of Indian postal codes.
The new company will operate under the brand name InsuranceDekho, and Ankit Agrawal, founder of InsuranceDekho, will serve as the head of the combined structure. The statement emphasized that the founders of both companies will remain in the new organization, ensuring continuity in strategic planning, execution, and leadership.
Together, these two companies have helped process over two trillion insurance policies since their inception up to March 31, 2026.
Ankit Agrawal, founder and CEO of InsuranceDekho, noted that this merger combines complementary strengths in technology, ground distribution, and partnerships with insurers. He added that the primary task is disciplined execution and seamless integration.
The combined company's technological capabilities are expected to support an automated partner onboarding process, which will include digital registration, policy issuance, and AI-based consultations. This development is also aimed at intersecting the fields of insurance, AI, and distribution.
Balachander Sekhar, CEO of RenewBuy, stated that by combining deep technological knowledge with the capabilities of a qualified ground partner network, they will be able to provide insurance partners with smarter tools and a convenient digital experience, thereby making insurance accessible to every Indian.
InsuranceDekho's portfolio includes transport, health, life, travel, and corporate insurance, offering over 750 products from 52 insurers. This startup has attracted funding from Beams Fintech Fund and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. RenewBuy is supported by Dai-ichi-Life Holdings. Both companies are headquartered in Gurugram.
