Mood Bonyadifar has been appointed as the match official for the highly anticipated derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis in the fifth round of the Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) of Iran, which will take place in Tehran.
Bonyadifar will officiate the Tehran derby
In addition to the main referee, Alireza Ildor and Bahman Abdollahi will serve as assistants to Bonyadifar, and Reza Mahdavi has been appointed as the fourth official. Esmail Safiri, head of the Iranian Football Federation's Referee Committee, oversees the work of the officiating crew.
Meysam Heidari will take the position of video assistant referee in the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room, and Ali Ahmadi will act as the VAR assistant.
These two rivals have met 106 times in all tournaments: Persepolis has won 29 matches, Esteghlal has won 26, and 51 matches ended in a draw.
The match is scheduled for Wednesday and will be held at the Nagsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan. Bonyadifar himself, who is 41 years old, began his career in 2011, officiating matches in the Persian Gulf Pro League, and in 2013, he was included in the FIFA list of referees.
