Renault has taken consumer feedback into account and is preparing to launch a seven-seater vehicle with a turbocharged gasoline engine. This refers to the Renault Triber Turbo, which is planned to be launched in the Indian market this month. For a long time, users have demanded the installation of a turbocharged engine in the Renault Triber model.
To stimulate sales, the company is introducing a new engine into its popular model. The launch of this car may take place by the end of September. A turbocharged engine, similar to the one used in the Kaiger, is expected to be installed in the Renault Triber.
Currently, the Renault Triber is equipped with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, which lacks sufficient power. In addition to the turbocharged engine, the company may offer a variant with factory-installed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) equipment. Currently, the company only offers the option of installing CNG after purchase from a dealer.
The three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that will be available in the Triber is designated HR10. It will be inspired by the HR 13 engine used in the Renault Duster. The Duster is equipped with a four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.3 liters. It is worth noting that the 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is also found in the Renault Kaiger and Nissan Magnite models.
In both of these vehicles, manufacturers offer a choice between a five-speed manual transmission or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This engine is capable of generating 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque. Compared to the naturally aspirated engine in the Triber, it provides 28 hp more power and 62 Nm more torque.
However, information on whether Renault will release this engine with the same power figures or tune it differently is not yet known. The Renault Triber will also feature the option of factory CNG. The brand may use a two-cylinder technology, which would help maintain cabin space.
The company may only offer the CNG option in combination with a manual transmission. Currently, the CNG option is available for the Renault Triber after purchase. This option comes with a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty. Besides the engine, the company does not plan to make any other changes to the Renault Triber. The starting price of the Renault Triber is 5.81 lakh rupees, up to 8.53 lakh rupees including all charges.
