Magron develops second-generation electric motorcycles and technologies for the electric transport ecosystem

Although the Indian two-wheeler electric bicycle market is largely dominated by scooters, Mobility Aggregation Global Research Organisation (Magron), based in Bengaluru, is focusing on electric motorcycles.

Founded in 2022, the startup is developing three models of electric motorcycles—H35, C20, and C10—and is also working on technologies it plans to sell into the broader electric vehicle ecosystem.

Co-founder and CEO Abiram Menon believes that motorcycles will ultimately thrive in this industry, and since his team has extensive motorcycle experience, they decided to take the risk.

Menon's transition into electromobility began at Bounce, where he was the first engineer working on scooters and the shift to electric vehicles. He also briefly held the position of Head of EV Development at Yulu. Later, he worked on vehicle development projects and consulting for several two-wheeler manufacturers.

Menon recalls thinking, 'If I can do this for all these people, why don't I just do it myself?'

The founding team at Magron also includes co-founder and director Janavi Jaiswal. The startup has a team of 26 people with an average of 15 years of experience in their respective fields, and the most senior consultant has about 55 years of experience.

Initially, Magron considered competing in the premium segment of the electric motorcycle market and created the first complete prototype in 85 days using carbon fiber composite materials. However, Menon noted that India is not yet mature enough for two-wheelers priced above 2.5–3 lakh rupees.

After this, the startup began working on a wider product portfolio. Magron's flagship model, H35, is expected to be priced between 3 and 3.5 lakh rupees and will be produced in limited batches as a technologically advanced, hand-assembled motorcycle.

The C20 model, priced from 2 to 2.5 lakh rupees, targets the mainstream motorcycle segment, while the C10 will be a simplified version of the C20, priced below 2 lakh rupees. Menon emphasized the need to create a sensible product that can sell on its own.

Magron forecasts the launch of the C10 and C20 around mid-2027, with the H35 following a few months later.

The motorcycles are only part of Magron's larger technological strategy. The company stated that it has identified over 200 potential areas for development in the EV ecosystem and has already implemented more than 50 of them.

One of the most developed technologies is a patented wireless charging system, which is more convenient than wired systems. Instead of plugging a cable into the motorcycle, drivers can simply park over a charging pad, and the vehicle will charge automatically.

Menon stated that they aim to 'flood the market with wireless charging infrastructure,' comparing this approach to the gradual standardization of wireless charging for smartphones. The Magron system is designed to provide charging speeds comparable to wired charging, initially targeting 6.6 kW, with plans to bring this technology up to 120 kW in the future. The system uses a self-leveling mechanism to position the charger under the vehicle.

Furthermore, Magron is developing safety systems capable of detecting breaches in the charging zone and automatically cutting off power. The company does not plan to limit this technology only to its own vehicles.

Menon added that they want to 'democratize this charging infrastructure,' and ultimately plan to sell the technology for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles in the market.

Magron is also developing the Magron Intelligent Virtual Assistant (Miva)—an AI system designed for driving conditions. Developed since 2023, Miva aims to analyze driving behavior and detect states such as drowsiness or unsafe driving.

Menon explained that the system can communicate with drivers in different languages and slang, while the safety layers are designed not to distract the driver in critical situations; it is more of an 'emotional AI' rather than one that provides general answers.

Miva will be available on the C20, with more advanced features offered as an optional package. The H35 model will receive the full system.

Menon asserts that the company sees software as a product that can eventually go beyond its own motorcycles. Magron is already in talks with other OEMs about sharing its AI technology.

Instead of viewing the motorcycle as a single product, Magron has broken down the electric vehicle into various technological stacks, including data, AI, and machine learning, as well as patented hardware components. Menon notes that 'each individual stack also has revenue potential and opportunities for distribution across the entire EV ecosystem.'

Currently, Magron has raised about $1 million and plans to raise about $5 million in the next round. These funds will be used for extensive testing, supply chain development, tooling, contract manufacturing, and a pilot batch of about 100 vehicles.

The two-wheeler market is currently valued at $1.98 billion and is projected to reach $5.48 billion by 2032, improving prospects for companies like Magron. For now, the startup is focused on refining existing EV technologies rather than trying to build an electric motorcycle from scratch. Menon concludes: 'We will only introduce improvements to what already exists in the industry, and a few things that the industry does not have.'

Magron is betting on developing 'second-generation' EVs—making electric motorcycles more practical and transforming individual transport technologies into products for a broader EV ecosystem. This, according to Menon, is what sets Magron apart from competitors like Ultraviolette Automotive from Bengaluru.
