Videos about the lifestyle in Pakistan frequently appear on social media, sparking interest in living conditions and general circumstances in the country since gaining independence. While India operates luxurious high-speed trains like Vande Bharat, Pakistan lags behind in this aspect. Many have seen footage of Pakistani trains, but few knew what kind of food is provided on these trains or what the state of nutrition is in railway transport.
Recently, a video from a vlogger who traveled through Pakistani trains went viral. In this video, he demonstrates the food served on Pakistani trains. The filming took place in one of Pakistan's elite trains, in a premium compartment. The person filming the video appeared dissatisfied with the food and criticized the dishes provided by the railway.
The vlogger recounted that he was planning a trip on Pakistan's most prestigious train from Lahore to Karachi. Upon arriving at the station, the train arrived on time, but then departed and did not return for four hours. Later, after four hours, the train set off, and dinner was received significantly later than scheduled.
The video showed that passengers were served cold bread (roti), chicken curry with peas, and rice. The vlogger heavily criticized this food, calling it very poor. The video also mentioned breakfast, according to which passengers receive an omelet, one piece of bread, and a tea set. However, the blogger noted that the bread was so bad it seemed merely rinsed.
Furthermore, the Pakistani railway system provides another amenity that is uncommon in India. Passengers on the trains are also given a dental kit, which includes a toothbrush and toothpaste.
