PM Modi calls for support for domestic production amid 7.8% GDP growth

At a ceremony on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed satisfaction with India's strong GDP growth in the first quarter. He noted that the country's economy continues to develop at a fast pace despite all global difficulties.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister advised citizens of the country, urging them to avoid buying gold unless necessary, and to hold wedding ceremonies domestically instead of traveling abroad.

Highlighting the impressive growth figures of the country, Prime Minister Modi stated that the achieved level of development is 7.8 percent, and emphasized the need to maintain this momentum in the future. At the same time, he noted that some people within India are spreading an atmosphere of disappointment.

As part of his address, besides praising India's GDP growth figures, Prime Minister Modi called on citizens to follow the principle of self-reliance. He appealed to Indians to refrain from traveling abroad to save foreign currency. He added that to realize the dream of a developed India by 2047, it is necessary to take a resolute stance in favor of self-sufficiency.
