China strengthens trade and investment ties with SCO member states

China is deepening trade and investment relations with the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) ahead of the 25th anniversary of this union.

At a press conference on Monday, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) reported that from January to July, 669,600 certificates of origin were issued to SCO member states, which is 9.62% more compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 561 ATA carnets were processed, which simplifies the temporary movement of goods across borders without paying customs duties and taxes, representing a growth of 45.71% compared to the previous year.

From August 27 to 30, CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin led a delegation of over 100 Chinese business leaders to Kyrgyzstan, which is hosting the SCO summit this year. This delegation was one of the largest Chinese business missions to the country in recent years.

During the visit, China and Kyrgyzstan jointly held a forum on business and investment, attended by over 300 representatives from government agencies, business associations, and companies from both countries. The sides studied opportunities for cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, green energy, connectivity, and the digital economy, achieving several practical results in terms of interaction.
