Tickets for the film 'Mirzapur' reached 1800 rupees; big buzz expected on opening day

Following great success on streaming platforms, 'Mirzapur' is preparing to hit the big screen. 'Mirzapur: The Movie' is expected to be released in theaters next week, generating significant interest among industry analysts and the film community. According to available information, the creators of the film have completed the process of obtaining permission from the film censorship body.

According to a report published in Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved the film on August 29th and issued it a certificate. This means that viewers will need to dedicate over three hours to watch the new version of 'Mirzapur' in cinemas.

Data registered on the official website of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) indicates that the total duration of 'Mirzapur: The Movie' will be 197.19 minutes, equivalent to 3 hours, 17 minutes, and 19 seconds. As is well known, the series 'Mirzapur' has always been known for its explicit language, profanity, and intense violence. Therefore, unsurprisingly, the censorship board approved it with an 'A' certificate (Adults Only).

A new trend characterized by long runtimes and highly action-packed, violent films has begun in the theatrical release market after the coronavirus pandemic. 'Mirzapur: The Movie' also fits into this trend. This wave started with the film 'Animal' in 2023, which ran for 3 hours and 23 minutes. Then, 'The Bengal Files', released in 2025, had a duration of 3 hours and 24 minutes. Following that, the film 'Dhurandhar' (2025) showed a runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, and its sequel 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' set a new record with a runtime of 3 hours and 49 minutes. Furthermore, the 2024 blockbuster 'Pushpa 2 – The Rule' was also 3 hours and 20 minutes long.

The trend for long films continues into 2026. Besides 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', Sunny Deol's film 'Border 2' was released in theaters with a runtime of 3 hours and 19 minutes. Additionally, the Marathi version of the film 'Raja Shivaji' was 3 hours and 15 minutes long (while its Hindi version was shortened by 8 minutes). Recently, on Wednesday, August 26th, the film 'Toxic' was released, lasting 3 hours and 14 minutes, although this film turned out to be a flop. Thus, 'Mirzapur' is also coming out with a similar long format to entertain viewers.
