Gas prices (CNG, PNG) and taxi and car fares rise simultaneously in Mumbai

Mumbai residents are preparing for a double blow to their wallets starting September 1st. On one hand, Mahanagar Gas has increased the cost of CNG and domestic PNG, and on the other, the fare for taxis and cars has risen.

Mahanagar Gas raised the price of CNG by 2 rupees per kilogram, and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) by 1 rupee per cubic meter. Additionally, a minimum fare increase was implemented for taxis and auto-rickshaws in the Mumbai area.

Both changes came into effect on September 1st. This information was published based on preliminary data, and further updates are expected.

CNG price in Delhi to increase by approximately 4 rupees due to global crisis and LNG price hike

Due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and a sharp surge in international LNG prices, the cost of CNG in Delhi has increased. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has decided to raise the price of CNG in Delhi by 3.89 rupees per kilogram.

The new tariffs will take effect on August 29, 2026, at 6 AM. Following this increase, the old price of CNG in Delhi, which was 83.09 rupees per kilogram, will rise to 86.98 rupees per kilogram.
