Ceuta decided to postpone the opening of kindergartens until the end of September due to the migration crisis

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Youth of the Autonomous Government of Ceuta announced that the Nossa Senhora de África and Juan Carlos I kindergartens will not begin the educational process with students until at least September 28th.

In the case of the Nossa Senhora de África kindergarten, preparatory work is being completed, which includes cleaning, furniture placement, and final details for the institution's operation.

Meanwhile, the Juan Carlos I kindergarten awaits the completion of the last administrative procedures related to the provision of the service.

The Ministry emphasized that it is working to ensure both centers can open their doors, providing all guarantees of safety, quality, and normal functioning, and thanked families for their understanding and cooperation.

The head of the Spanish executive power, Pedro Sánchez, reported that out of tens of thousands of people who illegally entered Ceuta at the end of July, 5,000 remain in the city, of whom 1,200 are minors.

Sánchez assured that, as expected, most of them will be returned to Morocco because they do not meet the conditions for receiving asylum. He also added that over 100 deportations of criminal offenders were carried out in the last month.
