Uzbekistan defeats Bangladesh in AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers

The Asian Football Confederation announced that Uzbekistan has started its campaign in the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in Group B in Tashkent on Monday.

Hosts defeat Bangladesh

Uzbekistan took the lead in the 19th minute of the match. After Aslbek Abdurasulov's shot was blocked, the ball reached Kuvanshbek Saidaliyev. His attempt deflected off Bangladeshi defender Md Raisul Islam Rahid and went into the net.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the first minute of the second half. Saidaliyev delivered an accurate cross into the penalty area, allowing Abayev Kuvonchbek to head the ball into the goal unchallenged.

Another Group B match

In another Group B match, India defeated Syria 1-0. Syria, the 1994 Asian champion, started the game more actively, but India demonstrated a solid defense, and the first half ended without goals.

After the break, Syria continued to attack. In the 69th minute, Ahmad Khalaf scored a goal, but the referee disallowed it for offside. Two minutes later, the same player hit the crossbar after a cross from Alan Mamy.

India capitalized on the chance in the 86th minute. Singamayum Shami scored after poor defensive play by Syria following a pass from Md Arbash, thus securing three points for his team.
