Fiat Pulse Abarth Scorpionissima presented at Interlagos to gauge public interest

Abarth presented the Pulse Abarth Scorpionissima at the 2026 Interlagos Festival, a concept vehicle that the brand has not yet decided whether or not to commercialize. This car was developed as part of a market and design study, allowing Fiat's sports division to measure public response before making a decision on the project's viability.

The modifications to this concept are aesthetic, keeping the original engine. The inspiration for the change comes from Italy, where the term Scorpionissima is used to designate the most exclusive editions of the brand, and the acid-green color has become a striking feature.

The concept features a glossy black sporty hood, along with acid-green internal and external details. The finishes were designed based on the universe of high-performance cars, and the Abarth lettering has been updated to a bolder design. Internally, the vehicle features suede upholstery and bears the Scorpionissima signature on the seats. The digital dashboard received a welcome animation, in which the scorpion moves on the screen when turned on and the model name is projected.

Frederico Battaglia, responsible for the Fiat and Abarth brands for South America, explained that the objective is to align the visual identity of the Brazilian Abarth with European references, without disregarding the legacy established by Carlo Abarth, the brand's founder in 1949.

Under the hood remains the 1.3 turbo flex engine, named T270, capable of generating up to 185 horsepower and 27.5 kgfm when using ethanol. This engine is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. According to the automaker, the Pulse Abarth is classified as the fastest compact SUV in Brazil, reaching 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and having a top speed of 215 km/h.

The sporty tuning is identical to that of the production model, manufactured in Betim (MG), including revised suspension geometry, stiffer shock absorbers, and the Poison driving mode, which surpasses the Sport level by releasing all torque with moderate acceleration.

In Europe, Scorpionissima is the emblem applied to Abarth electric models. The 500e Scorpionissima was launched as a limited edition with only 1,949 units, a number that pays homage to the brand's founding year. The 600e Scorpionissima represents the most powerful Abarth ever produced, with 280 hp, and is fully electric. In the Brazilian context, this same name is applied to a model equipped with a four-cylinder turbo flex engine.

The choice of the Interlagos Festival as the presentation venue was not random, given that Abarth frequently associates its launches with track and competition environments, thus gathering the brand's target audience. Currently, no information has been released regarding price, launch date, or production confirmation; Fiat emphasizes that the final decision will depend on the concept's acceptance by the market.
