Researchers from Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands reported the successful completion of pilot clinical trials that utilized T-lymphocytes modified with chimeric antigen receptors. These trials were conducted among patients with severe refractory rheumatoid arthritis.
According to the data obtained, the tolerability of this therapy proved to be high. Moreover, all six participants in the study showed a reduction in disease activity, and this occurred without the need for immunosuppressive therapy.
The results of the conducted trials were officially presented and published in the scientific journal Nature Medicine.
