Irish materials science specialists managed to obtain conductive graphene coatings using electronic waste and newspapers as raw materials.
For the process of separating graphite contained in heat dissipation films, researchers applied ultrasound and a standard kitchen blender. Additionally, cellulose obtained from newspapers prevented the re-adhesion of the formed nanosheets.
The resulting material mainly consisted of six-layer graphene nanosheets and retained its ability to conduct electricity even after complete drying.
The results of this scientific work were officially published in the journal ACS Sustainable Resource Management.
