US Department of Defense signs seven-year contracts to increase missile production

The US Department of Defense announced on Monday the signing of seven-year agreements with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems and Lockheed Martin. These agreements are aimed at increasing missile output.

According to a Pentagon statement, the goal of these agreements is to increase production volumes and accelerate delivery times for critical missile components used in the THAAD and Patriot PAC-3 MSE interceptor programs.

This step is being taken against the backdrop of growing demand for US missile defense systems, which is driven by escalating conflicts and increasing concern over missile threats in the Middle East and beyond.
