In the qualifying round for the 2027 FIFA U-20 Asian Cup, Iran defeated Palestine 2:1 in Group C on Monday.
In the first half of the match, both teams failed to capitalize on their chances. However, the situation changed six minutes into the second half when forward Mahdi Chamsehbahr managed to bypass the defenders and scored a powerful long-range shot, allowing Iran to take the lead.
The second goal was scored twenty minutes after the first, by Erfan Khodadadian Miri, who came on as a substitute. He took advantage of the space behind the Palestinian defense and sent the ball into the net from the top of the penalty area.
Palestine attempted to come back into the game but only managed to reduce the deficit: forward Jasin Abushaker scored in the first minute of extra time.
