Nasimeh Golami, an outstanding athlete in Iranian women's futsal, has officially announced her departure from the national team after nearly two decades of service.
Futsal Star Golami Retires from National Team
Golami was one of the key figures of Iran's golden generation. During her career, she won the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup twice and represented Iran at the FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup. Furthermore, she contributed to the national team securing third place at the Asian Indoor Games.
Golami shared her feelings about the decision, stating: 'The decision to say goodbye to the national team was not easy at all.' She added that for her, this departure signifies the end of a part of her life that she lived with full dedication for almost two decades.
The athlete emphasized that alongside the national team, she accumulated not just memories but also found her sporting identity. 'I grew up, experienced defeats, recovered from them, celebrated championships, and went through many difficult days. Naturally, parting ways with such a path is extremely difficult.'
Nevertheless, Golami felt that the time had come to make this decision. She wanted to leave the team while she still loved the jersey with all her heart, rather than being forced to leave or reaching a point where she would have neither the ability nor the motivation to continue.
