The internationally recognized New Zealand soul artist TEEKS made his debut performance in Johannesburg at Park Live Jozi. The audience demonstrated strong support for the artist, singing his music along with him word for word, confirming South Africa as one of his most significant markets.
TEEKS was accompanied by excellent backup singers during the event, which left the artist impressed by the crowd's engagement. The hitmaker, known for «First Time», is currently on a three-city tour across South Africa, which commenced in Cape Town, proceeded to Durban, and concluded in Joburg.
To satisfy the audience's expectations, TEEKS performed several popular tracks, including «Oil and Water», «Through It All», «If Only», and «Remember Me». Additionally, he presented new material titled «Boy» before concluding his set with the viral success «First Time».
During his performance, TEEKS shared his gratitude for the reception he received. He mentioned having preconceived notions about South Africa, but visiting the country provided him with a completely different viewpoint, leading him to state his intention to return.
The musician stated, «It's a pleasure to be here with you tonight. It's my first time in South Africa. It's my first time performing in Johannesburg. I want to tell you, man, since the moment we landed in South Africa, the people here have been so beautiful, so warm, so kind, so generous. I feel at home.»
TEEKS was not the sole performer captivating the Park Live Jozi crowd. Award-winning singer Elaine performed prior to TEEKS and delivered a memorable set. Elaine appeared in a striking blue sparkly outfit, complemented by perfectly styled blonde curly hair. Her performance featured fan favorites such as «Shining Star» and «Risky», alongside her new song «One More Time», finishing her segment with «You're The One».
The lineup for Park Live Jozi also featured other artists, including Rowlene, Nasty C, Will Linley, Matthew Mole, and Giod Neighbours.
