The Tashkent Metro plans to reduce train intervals during peak hours, which is linked to the projected increase in passenger numbers following the start of the new academic year.
The following intervals have been set for specific lines: on the 'Chilanzar' line, trains will run at intervals of 1.5–2 minutes; on the 'Uzbekistan' line—up to three minutes; on the 'Yunusabad' line—up to four minutes. On the surface ring line, the interval will be 7–8 minutes.
It is expected that the start of classes in Tashkent universities at 08:00 for the first shift will lead to increased load on the public transport system both in the morning and in the evening.
To effectively manage passenger flows at all 50 metro stations during peak hours, management and responsible employees will be on duty to assist passengers and ensure safety.
Plans for 2026 include supplementing the metro fleet with fourteen modern trains. Eleven of these have already been put into operation, and three more are expected soon.
Previously, passengers of the capital's metro noticed a special design of the underground passage located between the 'Amir Temur' and 'Yunus Rajabi' stations; the walls of this passage were decorated with numerous children's drawings dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
