A new fresco has appeared in Tehran depicting US President Donald Trump in a theatrical disappearance, carrying a satirical message regarding United States policy. This work is located at the intersection of Jamhuri and Vali-Asr streets.
New mural in Tehran mocks Trump
The fresco is titled 'No Tricks! Mornings, and you disappear!' and was created by Iranian artist Daniyal Farrokh. It references reports that Trump was secretly moved from 'Air Force One' to Turkey using a catering truck, after which he was transferred to another plane due to fears of an Iranian attack, as reported by Mehr on Saturday.
The large-scale artwork depicts a magician performing a trick and pointing to a catering truck containing an image of Trump. Several white doves are scattering from the scene, enhancing the image of performance and illusion.
Located on one of Tehran's main thoroughfares, this fresco joins a series of large works displayed in the capital. These public art pieces are used to comment on current international events and political processes.
The new work was created with the support of Art Bureau—an institution that regularly uses murals and other visual forms in public spaces to highlight social, political, and cultural issues.
