According to data from the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan, the volume of retail trade in Uzbekistan reached 310,901.9 billion soms for the period from January to July 2026. This figure demonstrated a real growth of 20.2% compared to the same period last year.
As of August 1, 2026, there were 90,683 commercial retail enterprises operating in the country. Among them were 424 large enterprises and 90,259 small enterprises and microfirms. Large enterprises generated a turnover of 55,228.1 billion soms, corresponding to a growth rate of 126.9%, while small enterprises and microfirms showed a turnover of 255,673.8 billion soms, increasing by 118.9%.
The highest growth rates in retail turnover were recorded in Khorezm region (125.9%), followed by Jizzakh region (123.8%) and the city of Tashkent (123.7%). Bukhara region showed the lowest increase at 110.9%.
The share of small enterprises in the total retail trade volume increased from 82.2% in 2025 to 83.2% in 2026. Simultaneously, the share of large organizations decreased from 17.8% to 16.8%.
The volume of wholesale trade in Uzbekistan for January-July 2026 amounted to 396,827.6 billion soms, which is 15% more than in the same period of 2025, when wholesale turnover was 326,594.8 billion soms.
As of August 1, there were 57,163 enterprises operating in the wholesale trade sector, including 421 large enterprises and 56,742 small enterprises and microfirms. Large companies provided a turnover of 104,578.7 billion soms, representing a growth of 131.7%, while small enterprises achieved a turnover of 292,248.9 billion soms, an increase of 110%. Small enterprises accounted for 73.6% of the total wholesale turnover.
Jizzakh region demonstrated the largest regional growth in wholesale trade (119.5%), followed by Khorezm region (118.1%). The lowest growth rates were noted in Fergana region (110.6%) and Namangan region (110.8%).
In the public catering sector, turnover reached 170,976.1 billion soms for January-July 2026, showing a real growth of 16.7%. As of August 1, there were 29,582 enterprises in the public catering sector, including 147 large and 29,435 small enterprises and microfirms. Small enterprises accounted for 77.6% of the turnover in public catering, and large enterprises accounted for 22.4%.
