The birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated annually on the eighth day of the dark lunar month of Bhadrapada. On this day, the birth of Krishna is celebrated with great reverence in all homes and temples. During Janmashtami, Laddu Gopal is dressed in a special manner, and appropriate worship is performed after the ritual birth at midnight.

According to the Hindu Panchang, the eighth day of the dark lunar month of Bhadrapada will fall on September 4th at 02:25 AM and conclude on September 5th at 12:13 AM. Since the festival of Krishna Janmashtami is tied to Bhado Krishna Ashtami, Rohini Nakshatra, and midnight, this sacred festival will be celebrated on September 4th.
There are several auspicious time intervals for performing rituals: Brahma Muhurta—from 4:30 AM to 5:15 AM; Abhijit Muhurta—from 11:55 AM to 12:45 PM; Sandhya Kal Muhurta—from 6:39 PM to 7:38 PM; and also Midnight Muhurta—from 12:14 AM to 1:01 AM.
On the night of Janmashtami, during the Nishita Kala period, it is necessary to begin by bathing Laddu Gopal. For this, Panchamrit can be prepared from pure water, milk, yogurt, honey, and gangotra.
