Large cranes can be seen everywhere in Dubai, and the work they perform is the result of the efforts of workers who spend years mastering the safe operation of these machines. Balwinder Singh from Uttarakhand is one such crane operator. He has been working with cranes since 2005. Content creator Jagish Chawla recently shared a video on his Instagram account in which Balwinder Singh talked about his job, income, and experience in Dubai.
According to the information presented in the video, Balwinder Singh earns over 100,000 rupees per month. He specified that a crane operator's income in Dubai can range from approximately 4,000 to 4,500 Australian dollars monthly, depending on the working conditions.
In the published video, Balwinder Singh stated that a crane operator in Dubai can earn around 4,000–4,500 Australian dollars per month (equivalent to 100,000 – 170,000 rupees). He emphasized, however, that this is not a fixed salary for all operators in Dubai.
He also explained that the salary amount depends on many factors, including work experience, the company, the type of crane, the number of working hours, and other terms of the employment contract. One factor contributing to Balwinder Singh's high income is his crane operating experience exceeding 20 years.
For comparison, according to salary data in Dubai from Indeed, the average base rate for a crane operator on August 13, 2026, was about 3,044 AED per month.
When asked about the necessity of undergoing any special course to obtain the crane operator profession, he did not give a direct answer. However, he noted that having a license for workers is a mandatory requirement. Content creator Jagish Chawla added that obtaining a crane operator license can cost between 6,000 and 7,000 AED, and this amount usually has to be paid for by oneself. He also mentioned that he processed his own visa and obtained his crane operating license independently.
