The head coach of Orlando Pirates, Abdelslam Waddu, expressed support for Yanelo Mbuthumu after the forward played a key role in the club's victory over Sekhukhune United in the MTN8 semi-final.
Mbuthumu, who had faced criticism from some Pirates fans in recent weeks, scored two assists during the match, in which the 'Buckaneers' confidently won 3-0 in the second half at the Orlando Amstel Arena stadium on Saturday.
The player's performance earned approval from Waddu, who is convinced that the young forward possesses great potential within the club. After the game, Waddu stated: 'Look! I am not happy about this right now; we trust this guy.'

Waddu called for patience, noting that there are difficult periods in football. He emphasized the need to give the player confidence and trust, as performance will surely come. 'Today he played well, and we must continue to help him,' he said.
The coach added that he is confident in Mbuthumu's future at Pirates and considers it unacceptable to 'kill such a guy.' He noted how important it is to feel the support of the fans, as they provide energy and strength. 'Sometimes you need to be patient with players, and when they feel this love and support, you will see what they can give,' Waddu continued.
He concluded that fan support can be a lesson for the player. After the victory over Sekhukhune, Pirates will focus on the upcoming Betway Premier League match on Tuesday against Kruger United at Mbombela stadium.
