Mahindra XUV 7XO sold over 70 thousand units thanks to high sales in the SUV segment

Mahindra dominates the Indian SUV market. The company's portfolio includes models such as Scorpio, Bolero, and XUV. The Mahindra XUV 7XO model surpassed the mark of 70 thousand units sold in just seven months. Mahindra introduced this vehicle in January 2026.

The XUV 7XO was launched as the successor to the Mahindra XUV 700. Since its launch, the car has demonstrated strong sales and maintained its dominant position in the premium SUV segment. Sales data analysis shows that the XUV 7XO consistently attracts buyers after its start.

In January 2026, 10,133 units of the XUV 7XO were sold. In February 2026, sales amounted to 9,112 units, and in March, 9,210 units. In April 2026, 8,630 units were sold, and in May 2026, 9,338 units were sold. In June, sales reached 9,244 units, and in July 2026, 8,233 units. By August 2026, Mahindra had sold over 6,100 units of this model.

According to the latest announcement from Mahindra, the total number of Mahindra XUV 7XO sold reached 70 thousand units. When reviewing data from January to August, the company sells an average of about 9 thousand such vehicles monthly.

Comparing the sales of the XUV 7XO with its predecessor, the XUV 700, the new version significantly outperforms the old one. Mahindra released the XUV 700 in 2021. In the first year after launch, 11,964 units were sold. In 2022, the company sold 65,371 units, and in 2023, 74,434 units. The peak sales for the XUV 700 occurred in 2024, when 90,727 units were sold. This year, the average monthly sale of this model is 7,561 units, and in 2025, 81,675 units were sold.

In the SUV segment with a length between 4.5 and 4.8 meters, Mahindra maintains a strong position. Sales of Mahindra vehicles significantly exceed those of Tata Harrier and Safari. July data analysis shows that the Scorpio is in first place with sales of 16,009 units, including the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N models. The Mahindra XUV 7XO ranked second with sales of 8,233 units. Monthly sales of the Mahindra XUV 9S totaled 4,131 units, while the Tata Harrier sold 3,301 units, and the Toyota Fortuner sold 3,189 units in July.
