Zero VAT rate introduced for tour operators in Uzbekistan for foreign tourists starting in 2025

Starting from the beginning of next year, specifically January 1st, Uzbek tour operators will be able to provide services to foreign tourists at a zero value-added tax (VAT) rate.

In addition to this change, the government of Uzbekistan has extended several support measures for the entire tourism industry. Subsidies intended for the construction of three-to-five-star hotels will be available until January 1, 2029.

A decision was also made to extend preferential conditions for accommodation facilities. Reduced rates for land and property tax for hotels and other places of accommodation are valid until January 1, 2030, using a coefficient of 0.1 for calculations.

Tourism entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to import buses, electric buses, and minibusses without paying customs duties until January 1, 2028. Furthermore, to receive subsidies when confirming the star rating of a hotel, it will no longer be necessary to sign an agreement with a foreign company.

It was previously noted that Uzbekistan has been included in the list of five best global destinations for independent travel.
