A delegation from the Samarkand region conducted a working trip to the United States of America to study advanced healthcare management methods and seek new joint projects with American partners, according to UzDaily.uz.
The delegation included representatives from the regional governor's office, the state healthcare system, and the private medical sector, including Meros International Hospital clinic. The main goal of the visit is to deepen interaction with the American non-governmental organization Project C.U.R.E., as well as to examine modern approaches to managing medical institutions, providing healthcare, and integrating technologies.
Preparations for this trip began earlier this year when the Governor of the Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev, made a working trip to the USA. Following initial discussions with Project C.U.R.E. leadership, the organization's specialists conducted on-site assessments in 10 medical institutions in the Samarkand region to determine equipment and supply needs. These assessments led to an agreement that Project C.U.R.E. would donate medical equipment and consumables worth 10 million US dollars to the region's institutions. These materials are currently stored at Project C.U.R.E.'s warehouses, and their delivery by container to Samarkand is planned.
During the current visit, the delegation is holding negotiations with leaders and experts from Project C.U.R.E. and leading American medical institutions. Discussions focus on modern management models, clinical practices, medical logistics, facility modernization, and technology implementation.
The delegation is also focused on developing the private medical sector of Samarkand. Representatives are meeting with American colleagues to discuss management methods, medical technologies used in private clinics, opportunities for international partnership, and joint investment projects.
As part of the program, the delegation visited the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, where a meeting was held with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, Furkat Sidikov. During these meetings, they discussed expanding interregional cooperation in healthcare, utilizing the experience of Uzbek specialists living abroad, and launching new initiatives. Additional meetings were held with representatives of Islamic Relief USA and Project C.U.R.E. to address issues of supplying modern equipment and vital medical goods, expanding humanitarian medical aid, and long-term development of partnerships.
This trip is expected to strengthen cooperation with Project C.U.R.E., improve the material and technical base of regional medical institutions, and introduce modern healthcare practices in both the public and private sectors of Samarkand.
