In the longest phase, the ring around the Sun can be visible for approximately 7 minutes and 51 seconds. This will be one of the longest annular solar eclipses of this decade.
This eclipse will not be visible in all parts of the world. Its main path will pass through some regions of South America and West Africa. In South America, it will be best observed in parts of Chile and Argentina. Additionally, the trajectory will pass near Uruguay and Brazil.
After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the eclipse will become visible in several places in West Africa, including Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.
A feature of this solar eclipse is its duration. This is due to the position of the Moon and Earth. At the moment of the eclipse, the Moon will be relatively far from Earth, causing it to appear slightly smaller in the sky. On the other hand, the Earth will be closer to the Sun, making the Sun appear larger in our perception. In this configuration, the Moon is unable to completely cover the Sun, allowing the glowing ring to remain visible for a long time.
The annular solar eclipse of February 6, 2027, will not be observed in India as a ring of fire. To see this phenomenon, one must travel to those areas of South America or West Africa that lie on the main path of the eclipse.
It is unsafe to look directly at a solar eclipse with the naked eye. Even during an annular solar eclipse, the intense light of the Sun can damage the eyes. Therefore, certified special glasses for viewing solar eclipses should be used for observation; regular sunglasses are not suitable for this purpose.
Two other solar eclipses will occur in 2027: the first being the annular one on February 6, and the second being a total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027. In addition, three lunar eclipses are also expected in the same year.
