Samariddin Kuchkorov won the first 'Grand Slam' medal for Uzbekistan in Lausanne

Judoist Samariddin Kuchkorov won a victory, bringing Uzbekistan its first 'Grand Slam' series medal awarded in Swiss Lausanne.

Kuchkorov won a bronze medal at this tournament. This success is the first for the national team of Uzbekistan at competitions of this level.

The athlete competes in the under 60 kilograms weight category. In the match for third place, he was able to defeat Sherzod Davlatov, who represented Kazakhstan.

The competitions will continue until August 30. Over 500 athletes from 77 different countries are participating, and the Uzbekistan team consists of 21 judokas. Previously, the start of the fight for Uzbek judokas for medals at the 'Grand Slam' tournament in Lausanne had already been announced.
