According to a statement from the press service of the Namangan region administration, the South Korean agrobiotechnology company GS-BIO intends to build a modern laboratory in the Namangan region to develop the cultivation of seed potatoes.
A company delegation led by Kim Won-hyun arrived in the region to discuss cooperation in this area. The region's governor, Shavkatjon Abdurrazakov, met with Kim to discuss issues of seed potato production and supply, as well as the implementation of greenhouse and smart farm technologies.
GS-BIO specializes in developing innovative solutions for modern seed potato production systems, paying particular attention to producing virus-free planting material. The regional administration notes that the proposed solutions are aimed at increasing yield and product quality while simultaneously developing potato seed production in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
Representatives of the South Korean firm expressed interest in expanding the partnership, considering the opportunities and conditions available in the Namangan region. Currently, the parties are studying the possibility of locating the laboratory in one of the districts of the region involved in potato cultivation.
