The Uzbekistan Competition Committee reported that in the first half of 2026, over 13,500 checks of advertising activities were conducted, resulting in the discovery of nearly 6,000 violations of national legislation.
During the monitoring, cases of illegal advertising concerning prohibited goods, gambling, and bookmaker services were identified. The Committee examined a total of over 18,000 advertising materials and issued non-compliance findings for 25% of them. In response, enforcement measures were applied against 83 organizations to eliminate the identified violations.
Specifically, 545 advertising materials related to medicines and dietary supplements were checked, leading to the identification of 51 instances of non-compliance with norms. Additionally, 250 reviews were directed at prohibited goods, uncovering 54 violations related to tobacco, alcohol, e-cigarettes, and beer.
A separate inspection focused on the promotion of totalizers and bookmakers. Out of 165 checks, 82 cases of illegal gambling advertising were documented. The Committee demanded action against 76 websites advertising gambling and risk-element games, which led to the blocking of more than 50 platforms.
In social networks, specialists discovered three popular bloggers who published staged videos promoting gambling and bookmakers. Administrative offense protocols were initiated against them. The Committee cited the viral promotion of gambling under the Melbet brand on social media, noting that the involved individuals faced administrative charges and legal proceedings.
Monitoring also revealed incorrect advertising of medicines and medical devices. According to expert conclusions from authorized state bodies, some manufacturers and sellers used forms, expressions, and images that contradicted national and family traditions, as well as accepted moral and spiritual norms. To protect consumer rights, the committee received over 30 expert opinions from the Ministry of Health, resolving issues in more than 20 cases before applying fines to violators.
Furthermore, in 2026, the committee sent about 10,000 warnings and official requests to mass media, Telegram channel administrators, owners of .Uz domain websites, advertising agencies, advertisers, manufacturers, and distributors. The regulator stated that it continues to monitor the advertising market and protect consumer rights.
