Mahindra expands Battery-as-a-Service program for its electric SUVs, offering new prices

Mahindra has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, making it available for all of its original electric SUVs. Previously, BaaS was launched for the BE 6 Sporteq model. Now, this service is also offered for the Mahindra XEV 9S and Mahindra XEV 9e models.

The program expansion comes amid the launch of a seven-seater SUV from MG. The MG Hector Tomahawk model has a starting price of 19.50 lakh rupees and reaches 23.50 lakh rupees. The version of this model with BaaS starts from 13.99 lakh rupees and ends at 17.49 lakh rupees, with the battery cost being 4.9 rupees per kilometer.

Regarding the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq, its price with BaaS starts from an export price of 11.45 lakh rupees. The XEV 9S model starts from 12.65 lakh rupees, and the XEV 9e starts from 13.90 lakh rupees in export price. The BaaS service will be available for all variants of these vehicles.

Mahindra's BaaS program includes a dual financing structure, where the battery and the vehicle itself are financed separately. The monthly payment for the battery starts from 6975 rupees, corresponding to a consumption of 3.75 rupees per kilometer. This calculation is based on a daily mileage of 60 kilometers.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is a seven-seater vehicle equipped with batteries of 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh capacity. These batteries provide a range of 521, 600, and 679 kilometers, respectively. The vehicle features rear-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7 seconds.

While the Mahindra XEV 9e is a five-seater vehicle, it is available with batteries of 59kWh and 79kWh, offering a claimed range of 542 and 656 kilometers. This model is also equipped with a rear-wheel drive engine. Without using BaaS, the initial price of this vehicle is 21.90 lakh rupees in export price.
