High-Protein Cheela Recipe for Breakfast: A Combination of Health and Taste

If you are tired of monotonous breakfasts and are looking for a nutritious and satisfying option, try high-protein cheela. This article presents a simple homemade recipe for this dish.

Protein is one of the most important nutrients for the body because it helps strengthen muscle tissue, provides a long feeling of fullness, and supplies energy. Therefore, it is considered beneficial to start the day with a protein-rich breakfast. High-protein cheela is easy to prepare in the morning using ingredients such as gram flour (besan), mung dal, oatmeal, cottage cheese (paneer), and fresh vegetables, allowing you to obtain not only protein but also many other necessary substances.

Ingredients for High-Protein Cheela

To make the batter, you will need: 1 cup of besan, ½ cup of soaked and sifted mung dal, 2 tablespoons of oatmeal flour, ½ teaspoon of turmeric, ½ teaspoon of red pepper powder, ½ teaspoon of cumin seeds, salt to taste, and the required amount of water.

For the filling, you will need: ½ cup of grated paneer, 1 finely chopped onion, 1 finely chopped tomato, 1 finely chopped green pepper, and finely chopped green coriander.

For frying, 1-2 teaspoons of ghee or oil are needed.

How to Make High-Protein Cheela?

First, in a large bowl, mix the besan, sifted mung dal, oatmeal flour, turmeric, red pepper, cumin, and salt. Then gradually add water until you have a smooth mixture without lumps. After that, stir in the finely chopped onion, tomato, green pepper, and green coriander into the batter.

Heat a non-stick or cast-iron skillet and lightly grease it with ghee or oil. Pour one half-cup portion of the mixture and spread it evenly in a circle shape. When the cheela starts to set, evenly distribute the grated paneer on top and gently press it so that the cheese adheres well to the batter.

Brush the edges with a little ghee or oil and cook the cheela on the stove until golden and crispy on the bottom. Then carefully flip it and fry the second side for another 1-2 minutes. The ready hot high-protein cheela can be served with green chutney, yogurt, or tomato sauce.
