Kawasaki has introduced its new motorcycle model to the Indian market. The 2027 version of the Kawasaki Versys 650 has been released and is available in the new Candy Lime Green color.
No mechanical changes were made to the motorcycle; the engine and power remain the same. The 2027 model will be offered exclusively in Candy Lime Green, aligning with Kawasaki's green identity.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is equipped with a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a displacement of 649 cubic centimeters. This engine is capable of generating 67 horsepower and 61 Nm of torque. Standard features include a six-speed gearbox, as well as 'sliper' type assistance systems and clutch.
The power of this motorcycle can be compared to the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 car, which produces between 66 and 68 hp and has a torque of up to 91 Nm; although the Versys 650's torque is lower, its power is comparable to the car's power.
Structurally, the motorcycle is built on a tubular diamond frame. It is equipped with a telescopic front fork with a travel of 41 mm and a rear monoshock suspension. The front provides 150 mm of travel, and the rear provides 145 mm. The rear unit includes a preload adjuster, which is a useful feature.
Additional features include an adjustable windscreen, a full LED lighting system, traction control, and a 4.3-inch TFT color display that can be connected to a smartphone. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 21 liters, which is convenient for long trips, and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 was launched at an export price of 8.63 lakh rupees. Its direct competitor is the Honda NX 500, which is sold for 7.44 lakh rupees.
