Iran is ready for technical cooperation to develop Tajikistan's energy sector
The Iranian Minister of Energy held a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, during which they discussed directions for developing water and energy interaction between the two countries. Iran confirmed its readiness for technical cooperation regarding Tajikistan's power grid.
According to an IRNA report from the Ministry of Energy, the Iranian Minister Abbas Aliyabadi met with Daler Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan. The discussion was part of a session dedicated to developing economic and cultural partnership between the countries. Aliyabadi emphasized the cultural ties between Iran and Tajikistan, noting that the meeting concerned future cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, science, technology, as well as water and electricity.
The Iranian Minister of Energy also drew attention to the problems facing Tajikistan's power grid and stated Iran's readiness to provide any form of technical assistance to improve and develop the country's energy sector.
Speaking about Iran's strategy in relations with neighboring states, Aliyabadi noted the deep historical ties between Tajikistan and Iran and the common kinship among many people, especially in border regions. He stressed that Iran will continue to develop relations with its neighbors in accordance with its strategy.
Aliyabadi also mentioned meetings with Iraq, Armenia, and other neighbors aimed at expanding Iran's cooperation with these countries, as he believes closer interaction will strengthen solidarity with them.
Daler Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, reported that the meeting covered the development of economic, commercial, technical, and cultural cooperation with Iran, with special attention paid to increasing commercial opportunities.
According to him, besides issues related to electricity, topics such as the status of joint dams, conditions in the field of energy and logistics, as well as issues of culture, information, and personnel training at power plants were studied.
The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan concluded the meeting by expressing hope that today's meeting would yield positive results, similar to previous ones.
