Monte Verde, located in southern Minas Gerais, is hosting the third edition of the event called Gastronomy in the Mountains, which will take place from September 1st to 27th. The festival will feature the participation of 23 establishments and will offer a free program on the last days, September 25th to 27th, including restaurant stands, culinary demonstrations, workshops, and musical performances.
Over the coming weeks, there will be specific events, such as an Italo-Minas cuisine workshop scheduled for September 1st, from 2 PM to 4 PM, held at Manduca Artesanal. This class will focus on preparing Minas risotto and fagiolata.
On the 23rd, Villa Donna Bistro will host Chef Fagner Rodrigues and pastry chef Carol Mesquita for a shared dinner called Festim. This special menu will include two appetizers, two main courses, and one dessert; the appetizer for this dinner is paid and requires reservations via the number (11) 97053-2626.
Throughout the month, the registered restaurants will present dishes created specifically for the festival on their menus. Chef Fagner Fagundes collaborated with the participants in developing these recipes, aiming for the acquired knowledge to be applicable to the daily routine of the restaurants themselves. Among the participating establishments are O Trutário, Alameda Suíça, Villa Donna Bistro, and The Tudo Um Porco Monte Verde, while the complete list will be made available on the official website soon.
The central programming of the festival will begin on Friday, the 25th, with the opening of the stands at 5 PM and the official start of the event at 6 PM. The first musical performance will be at 7:30 PM by Francis Rosa and his band.
On Saturday, the 26th, the schedule begins at 11 AM with a Cooking Show led by Fagner Rodrigues. Throughout the day, the public can watch performances by Sônia Kohen, Breno Lerner, and André Yuki Yoshikai. The musical program will also feature Mantiqueira Blues, Zamat Band, and Blues Family, in addition to an international performance by The Simi Brothers & Goldie Pipes, scheduled for 8 PM. The Saturday's musical attractions are part of the Sesc Amantikir Circuit, which brings together jazz, blues, and Brazilian Instrumental Music festivals.
The gastronomic program continues on Sunday, the 27th, with a children's workshop at 11 AM, performances by Mariana Salvaterra from Villa Donna Bistro, and Alessandra Pinheiro from Alameda Suíça, complemented by shows by Maurício Rádio Taxi and the Orquesta Camanducaiense de Viola Caipira.
On Friday (25th), the schedule foresees the opening of the stands at 5 PM, the official opening at 6 PM, and the concert by Francis Rosa and band at 7:30 PM.
On Saturday (26th), the agenda includes the Cooking Show with Fagner Rodrigues at 11 AM; Mantiqueira Blues / One Man Band, through the Sesc Amantikir Circuit, at 12 PM; Cooking Show with Sônia Kohen and guest chefs at 1:30 PM; Zamat Band, through the Sesc Amantikir Circuit, at 2:30 PM; Blues Family, through the Sesc Amantikir Circuit, at 5 PM; Cooking Show with Breno Lerner at 4 PM; Cooking Show with André Yuki Yoshikai at 6:30 PM; and the international attraction The Simi Brothers & Goldie Pipes, from the Sesc Amantikir Circuit, at 8 PM.
On Sunday (27th), the program includes the opening of the stands at 11 AM; children's workshop with Eduarda Botelho at 11 AM; performance by Mariana Salvaterra from Villa Donna Bistro at 12:30 PM; Maurício Rádio Taxi show at 2:30 PM; performance by Alessandra Pinheiro from Alameda Suíça at 4 PM; and the show by Orquesta Camanducaiense de Viola Caipira at 5 PM.
