Investment company IndiGo Ventures participates in Series B round of AI company Sarvam

IndiGo's corporate venture division, IndiGo Ventures, announced on Friday its participation in the Series B funding round of the artificial intelligence (AI) company Sarvam. The investment amount was not disclosed.

IndiGo and Sarvam are already collaborating on the development of AI-based applications designed to improve customer service, enhance employee productivity, and optimize aviation operations. The companies plan to continue testing and developing these solutions, and successful use cases may be rolled out across the entire IndiGo network.

Sarvam specializes in creating AI models and products for text, speech, images, and documents. Furthermore, the company is developing 'agent'-type AI systems capable of performing tasks and making decisions with minimal human intervention.

This investment is the fourth publicly announced deal by IndiGo Ventures. The first deal took place in July 2025 with aerospace manufacturing company JEH Aerospace, where the investment amount was also undisclosed. Previously, in January 2026, IndiGo Ventures participated in the Series A round of Escape Plan, a travel accessory company, which raised $25 million led by Jungle Ventures.

In the same month, IndiGo Ventures invested 10 crore rupees in Sarla Aviation from Bengaluru, which develops electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for air taxi services.

In 2024, IndiGo Ventures received approval from Sebi to establish an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), a fund that pools capital to invest in various companies. The target size of this fund is 600 crore rupees, and the first closed round reached 450 crore rupees in July 2025.

On Friday, IndiGo's Chief Officer for Digital Technology and Information, Nathan Chopra, stated that the airline's partnership with Sarvam will help it implement AI solutions developed in India in the areas of customer experience, staff productivity, and operational activities.

Sarvam Co-founder Pratyush Kumar noted that IndiGo's scale and experience in aviation will help identify areas where AI can bring tangible benefits.
