According to the National Statistical Committee, as of August 1, 2026, there were 20,973 enterprises with foreign participation operating in Uzbekistan. The largest share among them is held by the commercial trade and industry sectors.
Distribution of foreign investments by sector
Commercial trade attracted the largest volume of foreign capital, accounting for 7,450 companies with foreign investments. The industrial sector ranked second with 4,098 active enterprises. Together, trade and industry account for 11,548 enterprises, which is about 55.1% of the total number of operating structures with foreign participation.
Significant presence is demonstrated by the information and communication technology industries, where 1,764 companies with foreign investments are registered, as well as the construction sector, which includes 1,732 firms. Additionally, 920 enterprises operate in the accommodation and food service sector, 646 in transport and storage, and 532 in agriculture, forestry, and fishing.
In the healthcare and social services sector, 241 enterprises are operating, while 3,590 organizations are engaged in other types of economic activities.
Dynamics and structure of enterprises
Statistical trends indicate that the total number of active enterprises with foreign investments in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.7 times over the previous five years. Of the total 20,973 operating companies as of August 1, 2026, 4,685 were established as joint ventures, and 16,288 operated as wholly foreign-owned enterprises.
