According to information from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tomsk Region, on August 27, 2026, a working meeting was held in the Tomsk Region dedicated to potential cooperation with Uzbekistan.
Participants reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, as well as potential joint ventures. The meeting was attended by Hamro Choriev, representing trade union organizations from Bukhara, and Alexey Stukanov, head of the Department of International and Regional Relations of the Tomsk Region Government. Stukanov emphasized the Russian region's interest in deepening interaction with Uzbekistan.
Discussion of Investment Opportunities
During the negotiations, Choriev presented information about the infrastructure and investment opportunities of the Specialized Industrial Park of Bukhara, inviting Tomsk enterprises to consider establishing production facilities in this area.
The delegations identified the organization of business trips for enterprises from Tomsk as the main way to establish direct business contact between the two regions.
Furthermore, possible partnership with the Abu Ali Ibn Sina State Medical Institute in Bukhara, as well as opportunities for cooperation with Uzbek textile producers to supply raw materials for Tomsk enterprises' light industry, were discussed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to develop specific joint projects and strengthen regional business ties between the Tomsk Region and Bukhara.
