In the modern world, education extends beyond textbooks and school files. Students' academic documentation, including certificates, diplomas, and scholarships, is rapidly transitioning into digital form. In this direction, the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board has intensified preparations for APAAR ID to become an important element for students from grades 9 to 12.
The Board wishes as many, and ideally all, students to register their APAAR IDs before the registration deadline. Although it is not currently a mandatory requirement for registration or exam applications, the board urges students and parents to obtain this identification. This will allow important student academic records to be stored in the long term through digital identification.
The APAAR ID will serve as a permanent 12-digit digital identification for students. It will help preserve information related to a student's education in digital format. Diplomas, Transfer Certificates (TC), and other necessary documents will be available in the Digital Locker. The main advantage is that students will find it easier to deal with issues related to the loss, damage, or spoilage of paper documents, and access to digital records will be simplified.
Furthermore, the APAAR ID can help students receive scholarships and benefit from other government programs, as accurate educational information will be contained within this ID. Having correct data facilitates the digital verification of student information. According to Parta Sarthi Sen Sharma, Deputy Secretary of Secondary Education, preliminary registration procedures are currently underway for classes 9 and 11, as well as application submissions for classes 10 and 12.
During this period, the registration of APAAR IDs for students is being actively promoted. The Secretary of UP Board, Bhagwati Singh, clarified that providing an APAAR ID is not mandatory at present. Parental consent is required for its creation. The Board has appealed to school principals, teachers, and parents to assist in obtaining APAAR IDs for students. The goal is for 100% of students to have the ID processed before the registration ends.
This step is viewed as a significant contribution to enhancing the digitalization and organization of the education system in Uttar Pradesh, as well as ensuring the preservation of student records.
