Switching from live to recombinant vaccine against shingles reduces cardiovascular disease risk

A study conducted by British scientists demonstrated that switching the type of vaccine against shingles from live attenuated to recombinant leads to a reduced probability of developing cardiovascular problems.

According to the results of the natural experiment, the incidence of ischemic heart disease, heart failure, or ischemic stroke decreases by approximately nine percent within seven years after receiving the recombinant vaccine. This data was published in the journal Nature Medicine.

The observation noted that differences in risk distribution depend on the person's sex.
