Uzbekistan and South Korea have reached an agreement to expand their partnership in the fields of agriculture, agrarian education, and specialist training. This resulted from a meeting of representatives from relevant organizations of both countries, which concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
Signing of the Agreement
The document was signed by Rustam Nizomov, Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Agricultural Personnel, and Lee Yong-bom, Managing Director of the Korean Institute of Horticultural Research. During the negotiations held in Tashkent, the parties discussed the development of bilateral interaction in the agrarian sector, as well as the improvement of training and professional development systems for agricultural workers.
One of the central areas of joint work is the continuous professional development and enhancement of competencies of agrarian experts. The institutions studied the possibility of updating retraining and advanced training programs by implementing advanced international practices.
Integration of Science and Practice
Special attention was paid to incorporating scientific and practical achievements into the educational process. Participants noted that joint efforts in this area will enrich curricula for specialists while strengthening ties between vocational education, scientific research, and practical application.
The delegations also discussed organizing visits for experts and specialists to exchange experiences. Future cooperation plans include holding joint seminars, training masterclasses, and advanced training courses. The signed memorandum creates the legal and organizational basis for the partnership, paving the way for mutually beneficial projects in agriculture and human resource development.
