Theatre in Rudeparty, in collaboration with Evo Events, announces the launch of a new monthly community event—the West Rand Family Market—which will take place on the theatre grounds.
The first event is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, 2026, with gates opening from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The ticket price is 50 Rands per person, while children under 12 attend the market free of charge.
The West Rand Family Market will bring together local vendors of food and crafts, offering a full day of entertainment for the whole family, hosted by host Nadim Solomon. The day's program will feature rising talents from the West Rand in genres such as live music and comedy, along with other performances, complemented by the lively atmosphere of the market with unique local goods and diverse food and beverage options.
A special event of the day will be the Karaoke competition, accessible to the public without an entrance fee, although space is limited to 20 participants. Participants must register in advance and provide three song choices. Registration information will be posted on Theatre in Rudeparty's social media pages closer to the date. The top three performers will receive cash prizes, dinner at Joburg STAGES restaurant, and tickets to a Joburg Theatres pantomime.
Throughout the day, visitors can also participate in a market raffle, with prizes including tickets to a Joburg Theatres pantomime and any show at Theatre in Rudeparty. The STAGES restaurant will operate on site, offering a special menu for the market day, including the Big Daddy Sirloin steak weighing 1 kg, served with french fries, onion rings, and roasted garlic hummus, as well as the STAGES Quad Stacker burger with four patties, signature toppings, and sauce, served with french fries and onion rings.
Parking will be available on the premises, and the venue is equipped to ensure the safe and comfortable stay of visitors throughout the day. Nomzamo Ntuli, General Manager of Marketing and Communications, noted: 'The West Rand Family Market is designed to create a space where the community can gather in a relaxed and joyful setting. We wanted to create something that brings families to the theatre grounds not just for a performance, but for a whole day of socializing, good food, and live entertainment. This is the start of a monthly tradition that we hope will become a favorite for families across the West Rand.'
The West Rand Family Market will be held monthly. Confirmed dates for the season include: August 30, 2026, September 27, 2026, October 25, 2026, November 29, 2026, and February 28, 2027.
