The Eastern Cape will bring variable cloudy and warm to hot weather. Morning fog is forecast along the Wild Coast.
In KwaZulu-Natal, the weather will generally be clear and cool to warm, with variable cloudiness in the northeast. Although widespread precipitation is not expected, strong winds are forecast along the coast south of Richards Bay from noon.
A yellow warning level 2 for damaging winds and waves is in effect along the coast between Port Edward and Richards Bay, which may disrupt small harbors, ports, and coastal activities. A second yellow alert level 2 covers parts of the Namakwa Municipality and Central Karoo, where strong winds can affect settlements and create problems for high-sided vehicles on open roads.
Extremely high fire risk conditions are expected in the western territories of the Northern Cape, northeastern parts of the Western Cape, and western parts of the Eastern Cape. Residents in these areas are advised to exercise extra caution to prevent the outbreak and spread of veld fires.
