According to data from August 28, 2026, GIFT Nifty signaled a possible negative opening for Nifty50, as traders awaited comments from US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Symposium. Futures for this indicator were valued at 24,258.50, which is 24 points lower.

The Asia-Pacific markets displayed an ambiguous picture. Initial optimism following a positive sales forecast from Nvidia Corp weakened, while shares of Marvell Technology Inc fell by 7 percent after the earnings report was published. Japan's Nikkei 225 index increased by 0.82 percent, and South Korea's Kospi decreased by 1.14 percent.

During the previous night, the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices closed higher: up 0.2 percent and 0.72 percent, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite finished the session with a gain of 1.57 percent.

Despite ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, oil prices fell on Friday morning. September futures traded 0.35 percent lower on the Intercontinental Exchange, at $88.20 per barrel.

Traders were also monitoring events in Jackson Hole, causing gold and silver futures to decline by 0.75 percent and 1.21 percent, respectively.

On Friday, subscriptions are scheduled to open for initial public offerings (IPOs) of Priority Jewels and ESDS Software Solutions. IPO Listings

Tempsens Instruments (India) will debut on the exchanges on Friday. The Grey Market Premium (GMP) was assessed at 330 rupees, indicating a listing price of 630 rupees, which represents a premium of 110 percent over the offering price of 300 rupees.

During trading, Sensex showed an increase of 197 points or 0.26 percent, reaching the mark of 77,130 at the preliminary opening.

The Rupee opened stable against the US dollar, rising by 2 paise to 95.53 against 95.55 at the close of Thursday, according to Bloomberg data.

Furthermore, the US administration is considering negotiations with Venezuela to secure a large stake in its oil fields, which could potentially strengthen Washington's influence over the post-Maduro government and the country's vast energy reserves.

GIFT Nifty traded at 24,255.5, down by 27 points.

Asian Market Dynamics
