Fosun, which has stakes in Fidelidade and BCP, reported a total profit of 1.700 million yuan RMB, equivalent to approximately 217 million euros, accumulated up to June. This amount represents an increase of over 160.3% compared to the net result for the same period last year.
According to a statement issued by the group, Fosun's revenues reached 86,960 million yuan, corresponding to approximately 11,094 million euros, remaining at a considerably stable level during the January to June period.
Investment dedicated to innovation and technology reached 4,200 million yuan, marking an increase of 16.7%. The chairman of Fosun International, Guo Guangchang, stated that the company has made solid progress in its business optimization strategy and maintained focus on its core operations.
Guo Guangchang emphasized that the strong profit recovery observed in the first half validated the strategic direction adopted by Fosun, stating that the company has resumed its growth trajectory and is well-positioned to intensify its advancement in the future.
Additionally, Fosun mentioned that the implementation of its globalization strategy resulted in notable improvements in both national and international insurers during the first half. Specifically, Fidelidade held a market share of 30.1% in Portugal, and its international businesses constituted 26.7% of the consolidated total.
Fidelidade recorded a net profit attributable to shareholders of 165 million euros in the analyzed period, representing a growth of 23.8% compared to the previous year, despite losses caused by various storms in Portugal.
