1936 Cadillac V16 Replica in LEGO Seeks Support for Official Catalog Inclusion

The 1936 Cadillac V16 model, one of the most luxurious cars of its time, has received a replica on the LEGO Ideas platform. This project is created to expand the range of models for the Icons division and represents a coupe of a classic car from the 1930s, aiming to gain user support to be included in the manufacturer's official catalog.

The Cadillac V16, which was released in 1930, was considered one of the most expensive and sophisticated cars of that era. During its 11-year production run, Cadillac produced just over 4000 units of the V16 in various body styles.

After submitting an application to the LEGO Ideas division in May 2025, the model quickly gained its first 1000 supporters, but the pace of support slowed in subsequent months. Currently, the project has 2743 votes and needs to reach the 5000 mark to receive an extension. After that, 10,000 supporters will be required for LEGO to consider turning this development into an official product.

The model is finished in black with chrome details and features functional doors that open to reveal a beige interior with two folding seats. The steering wheel is also functional and allows control of the front wheels.

Among the functions and accessories of this 'set', the hood cover can open, showcasing a reproduction of the V16 engine used in the original Cadillac. Although the replica does not fully recreate the mechanics of the real model, the set includes an element that became one of the main features of the car.
