Climate change has ceased to be solely an environmental issue; it has begun to affect the daily lives and livelihoods of people. According to the 'Mood of the Nation' (MOTN) survey conducted by India Today Group in collaboration with C-Voter, a significant number of respondents acknowledged that climate change is impacting their lives.
During the survey, participants were asked whether climate change had affected their lives or earnings. The answers indicated that 52.7% of people reported a significant impact of this phenomenon on their lives or livelihoods. Furthermore, 25% of respondents noted that climate change had some effect on them. Meanwhile, 8.6% stated no influence whatsoever, and 13.7% could not provide a clear answer to this question.
To conduct the 'Mood of the Nation' survey, opinions were gathered from 25,184 adults from various age groups, castes, religions, and genders across all states and districts of the country's Lok Sabha between July 1, 2026, and August 25, 2026. Additionally, the survey included an analysis of the opinions of 91,795 people over the last 24 weeks. Thus, an attempt to understand public sentiment on various issues was made based on the opinions of a total of 116,644 people. In the statistical data of the survey, the acceptable margin of error is estimated at approximately 3% and up to 5% at a more detailed level.
In parallel, India Today Group launched the 'Pollution Solution' campaign in Delhi, aimed at combating air pollution. As part of this initiative, people are encouraged to provide practical and effective suggestions. The campaign received a positive response from the public, with over 345 suggestions received in just 48 hours. These suggestions, received from across the country, will be evaluated by a jury. Selected ideas will be tested on the ground with the support of the Delhi government and showcased on television. The process of selecting the best suggestions will continue, and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of up to 50 lakh rupees.
