Uzbekistan resumed gold exports in July 2026, sending precious metal abroad totaling $1.3 billion USD. According to preliminary data from the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan, the total volume of gold exports since the beginning of this year exceeded $2.8 billion USD, with supplies recorded only in April and July.
Uzbekistan's total trade turnover from January to July 2026 reached $49.5 billion USD, an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, exports decreased by 3.6% to $19.9 billion USD, while imports increased by 17.8% to $29.6 billion USD.
Excluding gold, goods exports for the first seven months of the year amounted to $9.8 billion USD, demonstrating a growth of 27.7% compared to January-July 2025.
Textile products continue to be one of the country's largest export categories. From January to July, Uzbekistan exported textile goods worth $1.9 billion, accounting for 9.5% of the total export volume. Textile exports showed an annual growth of 26.6%.
The July shipment was the second major dispatch of gold from Uzbekistan in 2026; the previous batch was registered in April. Before that, Uzbekistan last exported gold in September 2025, when the supply volume was estimated at approximately $1.5 billion.
